The Little, Big Double Reed Day is for all young people whether you’re new, experienced or curious about learning the oboe or bassoon.

The focus is on ensemble playing, preparing for a concert on November 2nd as part of the BIG Double Reed Day.

GDRD2025 will take place on Sunday, June 29th at Pate’s Grammar School, Cheltenham. The event starts at 10:00am and will finish by 5.30pm. There will be a Big Band, Masterclasses and a Concert featuring all players, reedmaking classes, chamber music coaching, try a Cor/d’Amore/Contra/Baroque oboe opportunities and shopping at the Trade Stands!

This exciting event will feature a stellar lineup of world-class tutors and performers from the RNCM, offering a day packed with inspiring sessions, performances, and opportunities to dive into the world of double reed instruments.

RWCMD, in partnership with BDRS, throws open its doors to double reed players across the country, for an action-packed day of concerts, classes, reed-making, and more.

The Royal College of Music in London are holding their inaugural Double Reed Day on Sunday 21 January, beginning at 11:00. The day is aimed at anyone with a passion for double reed instruments, with opportunities for participation and observing.

The Big Double Reed Day will be held at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London this October. A variety of activities is on offer, including masterclasses on solo pieces, technique classes, reed classes, and pedagogy discussion sessions for teachers

We are pleased to announce our Double Reed Discovery Day, taking place at Leicester Museum & Art Gallery on 18th September 2022, during the same weekend as the culmination of this year’s Leicester International Music Festival.
